TLDR Instead of using the web address of a proxy server, perform an NSlookup on the address and use a direct IP address instead. Possible solution was posted in another issues thread. Perhaps it will help someone else with a different issue, but doesn't seem to help my problem. It's not connecting after sitting overnight.
